I walk beside you

June 25, 2016 § Leave a comment

I walk beside you in battle
mute companion with a tightening heart
silent witness to the onslaught on you
My body no shield nor mind a blade
my love is cowardly, my resolve weak
my prayer is dishonest, lacking in faith
waste not your effort on my kind, it is too late
But I have seen our son in unbelievable dream
he is pure and strong and will draw grace from you
teach him well, yet unburden him of your hopes
he will help build a new world to cherish your essence
And i’ll be happy, a ghost forgotten in time-space’s slipstream
